- User Selection & Page Content: When you use the "Page Summary" or AI-powered features, the extension collects the text you have selected or the visible text on the current webpage to provide AI-generated insights.
- Form Data: In "Form Assistant" mode, we scan page inputs and questions to help you generate appropriate responses.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Personalization: To display your name and customize your experience with the extension.
- Storage and Preferences: To remember your settings and preferences for a seamless user experience.
- Functionality: To support features like "Page Summary," "Gemini Response," "PDF Translator," background images, countdowns, and to-do lists.
- Usage Management: To track daily AI usage quotas stored locally on your device.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not share your personal information with third parties except in the following circumstances:
- With your consent.
- Service Providers (AI Processing): Text content for analysis is sent to Groq API and/or Google Gemini for processing. This data is handled according to their respective privacy policies. We only share data necessary to provide the extension's core functionality.
- External Tools: If you click on external tools like "PDF Translator" or "DeepL", you are redirected to their respective websites, and any data you provide there is subject to their own privacy policies.
- For legal reasons: If we believe it is necessary to comply with a legal obligation or to protect our rights, property, or safety or that of others.
We do NOT sell your data to third parties.
Data Storage and Security
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
- Local Storage: Most data, including your layout settings, last used tools, and daily usage counts, are stored locally on your device.
- No Permanent Server Storage: We do not maintain a permanent database of your browsed content or personal information on our own servers. Data processed by AI models is transient.
Your Choices
You can choose not to provide certain information, although this may affect the functionality of the extension. You can also manage and delete your data through the settings in the Learnitab extension or by clearing your browser's local storage.
